Aristide Hotel

Ermoupolis

Aristide Hotel

I’m kicking things off with my favourite offering. Aristide Hotel in Syros is the epitome of luxury. If you want to experience gorgeous views, exceptional amenities, and a million-dollar vibe, this is one of the best Syros luxury hotels to do just that.

This 5-star hotel allows guests to live in a gorgeous neoclassical mansion with a surprisingly contemporary interior. This hotel even has a private art collection in the hotel’s art gallery – I mean come on!

Aristide Hotel also has a private plunge pool and a rooftop bar where you can indulge in a cocktail or two.

The rooms have marble bathrooms and oak flooring. If you want to spoil yourself and upgrade to a more luxurious suite, you can enjoy a stone bath and then have a cup of coffee on your private terrace.

As evening looms, dim the lights in your suite, play music over the Bluetooth speaker and relax while watching the sunset over the Syros sea. True bliss.

Though, my favourite thing about the hotel is that it’s approximately an 8-minute walk from the city centre and the beach, so it’s easy to reach the major sights and attractions. Popular points of interest around the hotel include Neorion Shipyards and the Industrial Museum of Ermoupolis.

Hotel Benois

Galissas

Hotel Benois

Looking for a budget-friendly stay in Syros? Hotel Benois is a trendy place to stay with a beautiful atmosphere and an ideal location.

Located in Galissas, it’s only 50 metres from the Beach of Galissas in Syros Island and within walking distance of some of the top restaurants, bars and cafes on the island.

However, it is not only the location that makes Hotel Benois so great. The hotel’s gorgeous neutral colour scheme pops when the sun sets – the suites at Hotel Benois open to a balcony with a pool and beautiful ocean views.

The hotel also boasts an outdoor pool where you can relax and take a dip. Or, enjoy a delish cocktail at the bar after exploring Syros.

Naves Suites

Ermoupolis

Naves Suites

Stylish comfort is the motto of Naves Suites in Ermoupolis. With its contemporary style and dreamy suites, you can relax in total luxury.

Naves Suites actually only boasts seven minimalistic self-catering suites – they split the suites between two waterfront buildings built in the 1820s.

The best part? You have to enter from a hidden passageway through an alley to access the suites, which gives Naves Suites an old-world feel before you enter the more modern building.

Once you enter, you will meet Aris, the soft-spoken proprietor of Naves Suites. A Syros native who makes sure to employ the concept of philoxenia, the act of treating a guest as if they are home, Aris is undoubtedly the gem of the hotel.

Expect a warm Greek welcome when you go to Naves Suites, and Aris will also make sure to create a list of recommendations according to your preferences. He’s like your own personal concierge.

When you head to your room, a mini aromatherapy pillow, comfy Coco-Mat slippers, and olive oil-infused bathroom products from Zealots of Nature await you.

Apollonion Palace

££

Ermoupolis

Apollonion Palace

Apollonian Palace is a gorgeous historic and elegant hotel, perfect for a luxurious stay with a whole lot of history in its walls. Housed in a 19th-century building, Apollonian Palace’s interior has a classic Grecian style.

While staying at Apollonian Palace, you’ll be treated to some of the most beautiful views of the Bay of Ag. Nicholas. The building has a large terrace where you can have dinner – I can’t quite think of anything better than enjoying your meal with lovely ocean views.

The suites offer either a view of the sea or a view of the city streets, so you can choose what you want to see every morning. Some rooms even have a private spa bath, perfect for some total relaxation.

On top of all that, this small luxury hotel is also within walking distance of some fantastic sights and attractions, such as the famous Apollo Theatre and the Church of St. Nicholas.

Hotel Ploes

£££

Ermoupolis

Hotel Ploes

This stylish hotel is situated inside an old 19th-century Neoclassical mansion – however, you won’t be living like you’re in the 1800s in this Syros boutique hotel. The subtle elegance of the contemporary interior sets the tone for a wonderful stay.

Hotel Ploes boasts a gorgeous little bar/cafe and a private swimming area, so you can go for a dip and then relax with a cocktail. When you return to your suite, the hand-painted ceilings and Venetian chandeliers will catch your eye first.

All rooms include a beautiful marble bathroom. And, you can enjoy an idyllic view of the Aegean Sea – or even the city – depending on which suite you choose. Some suites have a private spa bath and even a hammam. What more do you need?

There’s no need to travel far to Syros’ attractions either: Miaouli Square and The Orthodox church of Agios Nikolaos are quite literally on your doorstep and, if you have an interest in art, the Industrial Museum of Ermoupolis is a 2 minute walk away.

The Good Life

Posidhonía

The Good Life

If you’re after a more pared-back feel to your Syros accommodation, The Good Life is the place to be. These stone-built villas are incredibly comfortable and even eco-friendly. It’s one of the best cheap hotels in Syros but still has a lot of character.

Overlooking one of the most beautiful bays in Syros, The Good Life is sandwiched inside an olive grove, perfect if you want some isolation away from busy Syros.

But of course, this hotel is super close to the gorgeous beaches of Posidhonía, so you can still catch a tan. And if you start itching for some human contact, the town of Ermoupolis is just 14 kilometres away.

Don’t think that The Good Life falls short on comfort and luxury, though. The suites feature classic stonework, wooden beams, and whitewashed walls with bright rugs and sparkling chandeliers as an accent. The fridges get stocked with milk and butter, and one of the owners brings out some fresh bread every morning.

You can grab veggies from the garden for your meals, and if the chickens are not feeling too feisty, perhaps you can get an egg or two. Or you can head down to the bay of Posidhonía and grab dinner at one of the lovely restaurants in the area.
