Barceló Nura

££

Sant Lluís

Barceló Nura

A short drive from the heart of Sant Lluis, you’ll find the beach community of Biniancolla. And if you want to stay in one of the most incredible 5-star hotels Menorca offers (who doesn’t?), stay at Barceló Nura.

First things first, be sure to book a room with a semi-private pool – the terraced infinity pool is a delight and the focal point of the property’s expansive grounds. Ocean views are easy to catch from the outdoor spaces, but you can also head inside and enjoy a sauna or plunge into a heated pool during cooler months.

When you’re ready to head to your room, you’ll enjoy a breezy high-end beach decor with light shades of tan, aqua and green.

Start your day with a healthy breakfast at B-LikEat, enjoy fresh local seafood at Sa Tanca, or order in-room dining at any hour of the day.

Casa Ládico Boutique Hotel

££

Mahon

Bordoy Casa Ládico

When it comes to the best 5-star hotels in Menorca, Casa Ládico Boutique Hotel is my top recommendation. Situated near all of Mahon’s amazing sights, sounds and delicious seafood, there are so many reasons to love a stay here.

Every single detail of the property makes this one of the most charming luxury hotels in Menorca. Designer tapestries, artisanal paint and wallpaper in every room, and beautifully kept hardwood floors show the attention to detail in the hotel’s design.

But luxury and elegance aren’t limited to your room. Be sure to head down to the hotel pool and bask in the sunshine any time of year. Or book a spa date with your significant other where you can enjoy a relaxing bath for two or a couples massage.

If you’re hungry, head to one of the (many) nearby restaurants and see why the food in Menorca is amongst the best in the world – you can hike it off on the seaside trails later.

Santa Ponsa Fontenille Menorca

£££

Alaior

Santa Ponsa Fontenille Menorca

Menorca’s boutique hotels are full of surprises, and Santa Ponsa Fontenille Menorca is no exception. This 17th-century palace turned luxury hotel (yes, really) is simply divine and one of my top picks for where to stay in Menorca.

The charming property, located only a short drive from Cala Porter and Basílica de Son Bou, boasts olive trees, grapes and palms lining the Castillo’s stone walls.

Despite its construction in modern Europe’s infancy, each room in this stunning hotel is surprisingly sleek. Elegant shades of blue and brown play off the white walls and stone flooring to create a perfect blend of old and new.

Don’t leave without dining at Nura, the Spanish restaurant by Oriol Sola Pagés, where you can sample creative dishes underneath a magical tree-lined terrace outside.

ARTIEM Audax

££

Cala Galdana

ARTIEM Audax

You’ll find ARTIEM Audax near the idyllic beach resort community of Cala Galdana.

Not only is it a gorgeous high-end property with an outdoor spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and lush gardens abound, but it’s the first name that comes to mind when I think of Menorca adults-only hotels.

Tranquillity is the theme here, from the proximity to the soothing Mediterranean Sea to the poolside space featuring cabanas and loungers. You and your travel partner will have every opportunity to close your eyes, kick back and breathe in the fresh ocean air around you without any distractions.

Rooms are quiet, colourful and have private terraces with garden or ocean views, while the bathrooms are large and feature rain shower heads.

In the summertime, you can order a wide range of food directly from the chefs at Olivia. And the rest of the year, Galdana Restaurant charms you with local fare served in 1970s-inspired digs.

Faustino Gran Relais & Châteaux

££

Ciutadella

Faustino Gran Relais & Chateaux

For a stay in the heart of Menorca, look no further than the seasonal Faustino Gran Relais & Châteaux resort. Sure, it’s temporarily closed in winter but it soon opens for the warmer months of the year, and you’d be wise to book your room well in advance.

Just a short walk from the Port of Ciutadella, this 5-star Menorca hotel is set amongst not one but four palaces on the vast and immaculate garden grounds.

You can choose between a few dozen rooms and nine suites, all with an elegant blend of contemporary and historical influences that span ancient Menorca’s many cultures and centuries.

Trying Faustino Restaurant is a must while you’re here; with a dream-like setting under dense vegetation and artisanal chandeliers. You’ll enjoy locally sourced cuisine spotlighting the Mediterranean’s incredible produce at one of the top restaurants in the area.

Cristine Bedfor

££

Mahon

Cristine Bedfor

Another of the best hotels Menorca offers is the opulent Cristine Bedfor, which feels like the set of a Victorian-era novel placed in modern-age Menorca (in a good way, I promise).

Whether you’re enjoying afternoon tea on the terrace or getting ready for the day under a rain shower fixture in your luxury bathroom, you’re surrounded by cyan, mahogany and pine-coloured decor. Style is at the forefront of your experience at one of Spain’s most uniquely designed hotels.

Hungry? Walk to the nearby Port of Mahon to discover Menorca’s rich culture and cuisine. Or order from Cristine’s menu, which features food sourced from locals, and sample the vibrant produce, artisanal cured meats and tortillas made with the freshest of eggs.

Jardí de Ses Bruixes Boutique Hotel

££

Mahon

Menorca hotels in Mahon have a way of pulling at my heartstrings, and Jardí de Ses Bruixes Boutique Hotel is no exception. Not to be overly dramatic, but when you first look at this hotel, you might fall head over heels.

No matter which room you book in this boutique Menorca hotel, you’ll enjoy a stunning interior featuring tile floors, exposed-beam ceilings, high-end hardwood furniture, and captivating artwork.

When morning comes, take advantage of the complimentary breakfast downstairs and chow down on delicious local baked goods, fruit and eggs in a lovely garden setting.

Meliá Cala Galdana

£££

Cala Galdana

Meliá Cala Galdana

If it’s your first time in Menorca, staying at the Meliá Cala Galdana is an excellent choice. You’re a short drive from some of the most iconic coastal coves on the island, and the hotel provides you with every luxury amenity you can imagine.

The boutique hotel is full of welcome surprises, from the Cape Nao Beach Club & Restaurant (offering delectable Mediterranean fare in a festive setting) to magical views of Cala Galdana Beach.

Rooms are modern and stylish, with balconies overlooking the beautiful hotel grounds. If you want to make it a trip to remember, book The Level Suite Cala Galdana Sea View and enjoy coastal Menorca vistas you won’t find anywhere else.

Osprey Menorca Hotel

£

Cala en Porter

Osprey Menorca Hotel

Looking for a casual (yet cool) hotel near Cala en Porter Beach? Osprey Menorca Hotel is a 3-star resort that offers comfort and convenience with just enough style in the rooms, lobby and outdoor space to feel like the perfect fit for the trendy beachside village.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll likely spend most of your time at the pool, with the umbrella-covered lounge chairs giving you the perfect view of the seaside bluffs surrounding Cala en Porter Beach.

Sounds perfect? For the price, this Menorca hotel is hard to beat.

Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel

££

Mahon

Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel

Only steps from the iconic Mahon Harbour, the 18th-century Can Alberti 1740 Boutique Hotel is a unique find when visiting this Spanish island’s vibrant capital.

Each room has raised ceilings with intricate framing, floors made of stone and tiles, Parisian curtains and a beautiful colour palette that feels understated yet luxurious.

Explore the hotel and you’ll find charming touches like an honesty fridge where you can help yourself to refreshments, as well as indoor and outdoor spaces perfect for reflecting on the beauty around you.

Tuck into breakfast at the restaurant on site, or take a short walk to the most incredible tapas and seafood in Menorca in Mahon’s Harbour.

Hotel Sa Barrera

££

Cala en Porter

Hotel Sa Barrera

My top choice for a Menorca beach hotel? Hotel Sa Barrera is an easy recommendation for the best coastal hotels near the blue-green waters, white sands and towering cliffs of the Menorca coast.

Why? Set high up on the hill above the unrivalled Cala en Porter Beach, the rooms at this adults-only resort have an upscale beach house vibe.

Perfect for couples or solo travellers, the interior has a fresh and playful look, starting with the lobby that’s decked out in brightly coloured rugs, chandeliers, and artwork.

Enjoy freshly made pasta overlooking the beautiful courtyard, or step outside and grab a poolside lounger (before they fill up and you inevitably retreat back to your room via the walk of shame).
When you’re ready for the beach, you can walk to Cala en Porter and see why it ranks up with my favourite anywhere in the world.

Cala Bona y Mar Blava

£

Ciutadella

Cala Bona y Mar Blava

If you don’t mind being a bit removed from the heart of the ancient capital Ciutadella, Cala Bona y Mar Blava is a perfect coastal retreat at a price that seems too good to be true.

In fact, if you’re looking for cheap hotels in Menorca, you can probably stop reading now and book a room at this airy coastal hotel.

Rooms are well-kept and have a minimal design that’s perfect after long days at the beach. This is, by no means, a luxe hotel, but it has everything you would ever need for a beach-base in Menorca.

Once you arrive, head to the terrace bar for a cocktail and say cheers to one of the best bargains on the island.

Agroturismo Binissafullet Vell

££

Sant Lluis

Agroturismo Binissafullet Vell

Between the village of Sant Lluis and the stunning beaches nearby is the historic Agroturismo Binissafullet Vell, standing proudly since the 1700s.

If you’re looking for a smaller boutique hotel, this eight-room inn is perfect. Personalised service and a charming breakfast prepared by the friendly staff are nice touches that make you feel right at home.

Trying to find boutique hotels in Menorca with authentic style? This affordable resort has the white-washed exterior that Menorca villages are famous for and beautiful stone walls lining the exterior.

The rooms and property are quaint, but the outdoor pool and tapas bar allows you to relax and enjoy the Menorca countryside in perfect fashion.

Valentin Son Bou

£

Son Bou

Valentin Son Bou

Son Bou beach is one of Menorca’s most celebrated coastal locations, and you’ll become very familiar with it from Valentin Son Bou. This 4-star Menorca resort sits on an expansive property with hotel and apartment-style accommodations.

Whether you take a short walk to the beach or prefer lounging poolside, this is a perfect location for travellers who favour long afternoons outdoors. You can pull up a chair and enjoy the sun while reading your favourite novel or taking a nap while soaking up some vitamin D.

During cooler months, you can still catch some winter sun or head inside to take advantage of the indoor pool.

The best part? Whether you fancy international cuisine buffet-style or prefer a lighter meal at Snack Bar Tropicana, dining options won’t leave you disappointed. And if you fancy a romantic nightcap after a long day outside, head up to the adults-only bar and enjoy a martini to finish your day.

Hotel Torralbenc

£££

Alaior

Torralbenc

Not far from the beautiful beach of Cala en Porter, Alaior has some of my favourite luxury hotels in Menorca. Hotel Torralbenc is one of the best, with its unique farmstead turned boutique resort approach.

The white-washed villas are classic and refined, with luxurious rooms overlooking the gorgeous landscape. Canopy beds, private patios and indoor plants give the spaces a natural feel that matches the rural setting outside.

When you’re ready to eat, head outside to Torralbenc Restaurant by Chef Luis Loza. Here you’ll enjoy typical Menorcan recipes with a Basque influence in a serene rural location. You can truly appreciate the care that went into harvesting the excellent ingredients as you eat al fresco.

Be sure to save room to sample the wines from Bodegas Torralbenc. This on-site vineyard project took years to unfold but is quickly becoming a defining feature of this luxury hotel in rural Menorca.

RifugioAzul

££

Ciutadella

RifugioAzul & RifugioAzul Boutique

Another great choice when staying in the vibrant second city of Ciutadella is RifugioAzul.

Rooms feature exposed stone, sky-blue walls, light hardwood accents and plenty of Menorca sunlight seeping in. You’re also a short walk away from the many great restaurants, museums and landmarks that make Ciutadella one of my favourite areas to stay in Menorca.

Book a room with a private terrace if possible, as it’s a fabulous deal for the price.

Hotel Rural Biniarroca

££

Sant Lluis

Hotel Rural Biniarroca

Hotel Rural Biniarroca knows a thing or two about running small luxury hotels in Menorca. The adults-only boutique resort has called Saint Lluis home since the 17th century.

Free parking on site allows you to drive to nearby landmarks like La Mola Fortress, but you may get lost in the magic of this centuries-old Menorca hotel.

Vaulted ceilings, dark hardwood detailing from top to bottom, and antique furniture provide a welcoming, upscale country home feel you’ll remember long after you leave. Better yet, the restaurant on-site serves locally sourced ingredients of the highest quality and blends Mediterranean and French cuisine with impressive results.

You’ll be a bit removed from the heart of Sant Lluis, but that’s part of the charm of this magical garden estate. Two outdoor swimming pools (one with a pool bar to boot) and the most adorable garden provide the perfect fairy-tale setting for your trip.

Sol Falco

££

Son Xoriguer

Sol Falco

Keen to stay at one of Menorca’s all-inclusive hotels? Sol Falco is one of the most well-known choices if you want everything taken care of within the price of your room.

Though a favourite amongst families travelling to Menorca, it’s also a great choice for solo travellers and couples who want a resort experience when staying on this small Spanish island.

You’ll enjoy buffet-style breakfasts, snacks, dinners, cocktails and refreshments for no added cost. Outdoor space features pools and play areas for children, but there is also ample room to take a romantic walk or head to the nearby beaches close to the hotel.

Rooms are well-appointed with large beds, flat screen tvs and private balconies.

Want my advice? Opt for the Superior Suite, where you’ll be on the quieter garden side of the hotel. The suite is spacious, the bathroom has a rain shower head and you can end the day with conversation and cocktails on your terrace.

La Quinta Menorca

££

Son Xoriguer

La Quinta Menorca by PortBlue Boutique

If you’re looking for a low-key hotel near the famous Cala en Bosch Beach, La Quinta Menorca is a perfect choice.

This adults-only property has a lavish design and attentive service that will help you settle in and relax in the tranquil poolside setting.

The rooms have a peaceful, relaxed decor that feels like grandma’s house near the beach. Private balconies overlook the gardens below, and interior spaces face the outdoor pool.

Book a package with breakfast and dinner included if you want an all-inclusive Menorca hotel experience. You’ll want to make time to enjoy fantastic Mediterranean cuisine by Chef Gregorio Izquierdo at Restaurante Son Xoriguer.

Sound like the perfect place to experience Menorca? This hotel is easily one of the best on the island.

Hotel Nou Sant Antoni

££

Ciutadella

Hotel Nou Sant Antoni

Every so often, I find a hotel that surprises me with the perfect balance of luxury, unique design, historical significance and terrific value. Hotel Nou Sant Antoni is that hotel in Menorca.

This lovely boutique hotel sits in a historic building from the 1800s. The interior feels like you’re staying in someone’s family home (if that person was rich AF) , with ten rooms displaying their own distinct personality and elegant style.

Arching ceilings, exposed stone walls, pendant lights and antique furniture are a few touches that make each room feel nearly perfect. Add to this modern amenities like WiFi, satellite television and heating for those chilly Mediterranean evenings, and it’s no wonder this centuries-old building is stylish and comfortable.

Want to stay in the heart of the ancient capital Ciutadella? This hotel sits on one of the most important streets past and present, Calle Carnicería. Take a walk through the cobbled alleyways and explore the restaurants and shops that make this area one of my favourites in Spain.
