Best Airbnbs in Phoenix, Arizona
Here are my top picks for Plum Guide and Airbnb in sunny Phoenix.
Lofted Casita in Historic Central
This Lofted Casita Airbnb in central Phoenix is a tiny home ideal for a romantic getaway. I say romantic because, as with many tiny homes, expect limited space. In other words, it’s snug AF.
Don’t let that put you off though – escape to the beautiful garden for some of the best stargazing opportunities in Arizona, or relax under the (private) open-air shower and take a breather.
The host, Toby, regularly decks out the place with snacks, the perfect accompaniment for free wifi and a smart TV. Movie night, anyone?
Location: Central Phoenix
This casita is tucked away in a cosy neighbourhood, just down the street from Arizona State Fair, Encanto Park, a public pool and a golf course.
Terracotta Sun
This Southwest-inspired apartment is ridiculously stylish and has everything you need for a comfy stay, from a fully decked-out kitchen to a suntrap balcony.
The apartment officially sleeps 4, but to be totally honest, I don’t think it looks big enough for more than 2 (maybe 3 if you’re travelling with a child). Still, it’s bright and light, looking like it has come straight from a Pinterest board.
The best part? The complex also has a communal outdoor pool and BBQ area for a cooldown from the Arizona sun.
Location: Downtown Phoenix
Downtown Phoenix is my top pick. You’ll be just a stone’s throw away from the Phoenix Art Museum, hip cafes and restaurants.
Open-Concept Casita in Midtown
This open-concept Airbnb in Phoenix may be quaint, but that also makes it oh-so cosy. It has a small seating area, kitchen and bedroom complete with a workstation, high-speed wifi and Smart TV.
This tiny home is also a pet-friendly Airbnb in Phoenix, but you’ll need to pay an extra fee and can only bring two pets for a stay. Again, it says it can sleep up to four, but that seems a little too snug for me. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway for two, though.
Location: Central Phoenix
This home’s location in Central Phoenix is ideal for visits to Encanto Park and Arizona State Fair.
Feel the Heat
Pack your swimming trunks (or cozzie!) for this Phoenix Airbnb with a pool.
Similarly to the poolside, the sunlight floods the open-plan apartment, which comes with a private balcony, kitchen, and lounge area to enjoy your morning coffee. Oh, and the view of Downtown Phoenix? Absolutely incredible.
Need a little bit more space? There’s also a shared lounge and downstairs gym. Both are modern and spacious.
Location: Downtown Phoenix
This Airbnb in downtown Phoenix is central for sightseeing and buzzing nightlife.
Great Mountain Views
Here’s an Airbnb that’s stacked with fun for a large friend group. From a pool and jacuzzi to a mini golf course, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained.
There are four bedrooms and bathrooms alongside the living, dining, and kitchen area. It might not be the most modern offering on this list, but the sheer size of the Airbnb makes up for it.
Fair warning: the house might be large, but don’t get any crazy ideas about throwing Project X-style parties. There’s a surcharge for any nuisance caused.
Location: South Mountain
This house is a short drive from South Mountain Park, with many hiking trails, horse riding spots and outdoorsy activities nearby.
Desert Diver
Gather your pals and head to Desert Diver – the ultimate place for large groups of friends.
The Airbnb can comfortably house up to nine people and has entertainment covered. The deck is lush and welcoming, surrounded by palm trees, while the seating around the fire pit overlooks the large (and private!) swimming pool.
Location: Camelback East
This house is close to many outdoor activities like Camelback East, Phoenix Zoo and Pueblo Grande Museum.
Urban Guest House
For a luxury Airbnb in Phoenix at a fraction of the price, stay at the Urban Guest House. It has a king-sized bed, a kitchenette and a small work area – because the grind never stops, right?
The decor is a little bit dated, but don’t let that put you off. After a long day of sightseeing, nothing beats taking a soak in the lush garden’s large pool and jacuzzi.
The host, Bryan, is also very friendly and happy to assist if you need anything – including local recommendations.
Location: Uptown
This Airbnb in North Phoenix is tucked away in a quiet neighbourhood in the Uptown area. It’s perfect for uninterrupted R&R.
Rise Like a Phoenix
This modern apartment is for the eco-conscious traveller. It features an open-plan design and, thanks to its large windows, natural light flows through this well-planned space effortlessly.
Another plus is that it’s in a central location that amplifies the city views from its roof terrace. However, this also means that it can be pretty noisy. Not an issue if you like to party in the nearby bars, though.
Location: Evans Churchill
Evans Churchill is the city’s art district. Expect plenty of artsy cafes, brewpubs and live music on every corner.
Practical Tips to Consider Before Booking Your Airbnb in Phoenix
- Much like the city’s namesake, it is hot. So, pack a good sun cream to protect yourself from its rays. When heading out on Phoenix’s trails, make sure you pack plenty of water and stay hydrated.
- It’s worth noting that Airbnb rentals in Phoenix are cheaper in the low season between July and September. But, be warned: it’s hot!
