Best Airbnbs in Albuquerque

There are some fantastic Albuquerque hotels around, but even the five-star options are put to shame by these brilliant Airbnbs…

Casa del Sol Naciente

Casa del Sol Naciente

Grab your friends for the ultimate trip to ABQ. This four-bedroom abode exudes sleek elegance with its super shiny parquet flooring and breathtaking colour palette.

Space will never be an issue thanks to the large lounge and kitchen, and it even has some more subtle touches with gorgeous plant artwork throughout.

The pool and gym are also perfect for fitness fanatics – though I wouldn’t blame you for skipping leg day in favour of a chilled out hike instead (followed by a beer or two, of course).

Location: Aztec

It’s only 15 minutes from downtown Albuquerque and the Sandia Peak Tramway, so an epic adventure isn’t far away.

Radiant, Pueblo-Revival Home

Pueblo-Revival Home

This three-bedroom accommodation has an old-school pueblo exterior with a modern interior fit for kings and queens. The palette of white, timber and touches of pale blue make the space a breezy and relaxing stay.

Each bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, but you’ll probably spend all your time in the open-plan kitchen and living room.

Greg is what I like to call a super Super Host. He gives you the space you need. But he’s also happy to answer any questions, like where to find the best vibey bars downtown.

Location: Downtown

It’s the prime location for a stellar stay, with the Sawmill Market and Old Town only 5 minutes away.

Boho-Chic Casita

Boho Chic Casita

Of all the fantastic vacation rentals in Albuquerque, NM, this boho-chic one-bedroom home is among my favourite picks. The fully-kitted kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, while the private patio offers the perfect sundowners’ destination.

It may be small, but the fireplace will keep you toasty and warm in winter. What’s more, its entirely open-plan design allows natural light to reach every corner of the home.

And if you’re ever in a pickle, Lacy is super helpful and just a phone call away.

Location: University Heights

It’s a stone’s throw away from the University of New Mexico and a five-minute drive to the Albuquerque International Airport.

Casa Mia

Casa Mia

Let the beautiful parquet flooring and golden light fittings embrace you at this three-bedroom Airbnb near the Albuquerque Balloon Festival site. The open-plan living and kitchen area is perfect for groups of friends looking to mingle on a New Mexico road trip.

The only downside is that the third bedroom has a bunk bed. But the MasterChef-worthy BBQ grill and outdoor seating area can make up for that.

The hosts, Brendon and Jennifer, are also always happy to help you during your stay. They even provide complimentary streaming services like Netflix and Disney +.

Location: Nor Este

It’s only 5 minutes from the Anderson Abruzzo Balloon Museum, where a romantic trip through the sky awaits.

Tranquil, Mid-Century Modern Abode

Mid-Century Modern Adobe Classic

Tranquillity is the name of the game in this cream-inspired three-bedroom home. It’s also a super spacious option, with large rooms throughout and a beautiful patio space for glorious summer brunches.

The massive copper fireplace in the second lounge (that’s right, there are two) will keep you snug in winter and provide glorious garden views. It is a tad far from downtown Albuquerque, but it is wheelchair-friendly lodging, so anyone and everyone can stay here.

Location: Altura Park

This is a very serene part of ABQ. There’s a lovely park nearby, while Nob Hill is only 5 minutes away with trendy bars, and the Bosque Brewing Co.

Spacious Modern Downtown Loft 825

Downtown Loft 825

Stay in the heart of Albuquerque in this multiple-story one-bedroom loft. Upon entering, you’ll find yourself in a spacious open-plan room with a fully-kitted kitchen. The third-floor office overlooks the tree-lined streets and living room below.

Head down to the first floor for a calming reading nook, or climb up to the fourth floor, where your comfortable bedroom awaits.

It’s not ideal for those with mobility issues due to the stairs. But if you don’t have a problem with the stairs and want a stunning pink patio branching off your bedroom, this accommodation is for you.

Location: Downtown

Central Avenue is a short walk away, where you’ll find fantastic restaurants and the stunning KiMo Theatre.

Huge Contemporary Estate With Heated Pool

Contemporary Estate

If you seek a pet-friendly Airbnb in Albuquerque, look no further than this fantastic four-bedroom villa. This estate is the equivalent of an adults’ playground, with everything from billiards and table tennis to a heated pool and office space.

There’s even a serene koi pond in the garden, while the two massive lounges have comfortable seating and an epic sound system.

Location: Rio Rancho

It may be some distance from the city centre, but it’s close to Sandia Peak and all the fantastic hikes nearby.

Vineyard Casita on the Rio Grande

Vineyard Casita

Book your stay at this two-bedroom casita for stunning views and the best Airbnb in Albuquerque with a hot tub. The abode nestles amongst the sprawling fields of lush grapevines and close to the ever-flowing Rio Grande.

It may not have a washer for clothes, but it makes up for this with the glorious pool and balcony. Your host, Daniel, stays on the property and is always happy to help.

Location: Los Ranchos de Albuquerque

With the Alameda/Rio Grande open space nearby and Piedras Marcadas Canyon only around a 6-minute drive away, you’re never far from nature.

Vacation Home With Indoor Pool

Family Vacation

There’s no better Airbnb in Albuquerque with a pool than this stunning four-bedroom home. Square off with your friends in a game of billiards in the lounge or work up a feast as a team in the massive kitchen.

You don’t need to worry about chilly winter weather dampening your fun, as the indoor pool and hot tub provide glorious places to relax. Although it’s fairly far from downtown Albuquerque, it does have majestic views of Sandia Peak overhead.

Location: Glenwood Hills

You’ll have first-hand access to all the best Albuquerque hikes, and the Sandia Peak Tramway is only about 10 minutes away.

Luxurious Private Townhome

2-Bed Townhome

Last but certainly not least, this two-bedroom townhouse offers the perfect combination of uber-luxe living and activities galore. As part of a larger commune, you can access everything from BBQ facilities to an excellent gym.

While the communal pool is inviting, I won’t blame you if you just take it easy in the blue and cream open-plan lounge. That said, the bedrooms are upstairs, so it’s not ideal for people with mobility issues.

But aside from that, this is the perfect destination for a relaxing stay. They even have a mini putting green, for any golf fans out there!

Location: Wildflower Area

The Balloon Fiesta Park is less than 10 minutes away, and the Gruet Winery and Tasting Room is just down the road. Both of which are a must for any Albuquerque itinerary.

Practical Tips to Consider Before Booking Your Airbnb in Albuquerque

  • Take my advice and book a stay close to the Sawmill Market if you’re a foodie. You’ll thank me when you can roll out of bed and get breakfast easily.
  • Though you can (and should) take advantage of a hot air balloon ride any time of year, aim to visit Albuquerque in October to enjoy the International Balloon Fiesta.
